"I will write what I know about our relatives:
My Grandfathers name was Gustav Myrstrom, he lived in the Bohuslän province, Sweden,a border town between Norway and Sweden, He had six children with his first wife, I don't know what year she died. First child was Amanda, she stayed on in Sweden, married and raised a family. 2nd child was Charles, Oscar, Evelyn & Jeanettes father, 3rd child was Herman, Hilda & Cousin Alice's Father; 4th, child was Oscar, my Dad; 5th child was Julius, he had six daughters, lived in St.Paul, same as Uncle Herman, & Charles in Minneapolis same as my Dad; Uncle George stayed on in Sweden, raised a family of 2 sons and 5 daughters; cousin Alice & Hilda visited them a few years ago, Alice said they are all welll-to-do, and have such beautiful homes. One Son Ivar, left Sweden a few years and settled in St.Paul, he passed on a year or so ago.
My Grandfather was 72 years old when he remarried, he married a young widow that had a son named Smith,I don't know his first name,it just came to me now,I think it is Axel Smith.
grew up in Sweden, then came to this Country and settled in St.Paul, had 2 boys, both are Doctors, parents are both gone now. Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Dick are from this second marriage.
Grandpa's wife died very young, at age 39, and left Grandpa with two small children to raise,it was pretty rough.Aunt Evelyn told me long ago how they had to live with one relative and then another until they grew up and came to this Country. I have not heard how old my Grandfather was when he died.
Grandpa's four oldest boys, Charles, Herman, Oscar and Julius, sailed to this Country when they were in their 20's. My Dad was one of the cooks on the Ship; when they got to Florida,
the Ship stayed there for a month, before going back to Sweden. They decided to stay in this Country, so they had to hide in the Everglades and coconut groves until the Ship sailed.They had to live on coconuts and the coconut milk for a long time while in hiding,no wonder my Dad couldn't stand the sight of a coconut. The four of them also decided to change their last name,they
thought it was too long, so they took out the first R,and changed it to Mystrom"
